Collaborative Consulting and Advocacy
Meet Carrie
Hello and welcome! I’m Carrie Gold and I’m so happy you found me here. For 2 decades I’ve had the honor of supporting children and young adults with diverse needs, collaborating with families, and working closely with teams to create environments where learners can be nurtured and supported into growth. My education and expertise is in special education, specifically supporting autistic individuals and individuals with behaviors that get in the way of their daily activities. My approach is strong in its softness and led by connection and curiosity. It is my mission to embrace our children as they are and work with their strengths and interests to help them find confidence and ease in their daily lives. The skills and expertise I’ve developed over the years are applicable to any environment or circumstance where complex behaviors are popping up. With years of experience drafting IEPs and working as a team member on multi-disciplinary teams working with individuals receiving special education services under my belt, I now feel passionate about collaborating with families and educators who need a little extra support.
My education and professional experiences are not the only thing bringing me to you today. My perspective as a parent also plays a huge role in my professional values. As a mother of a young child who has many unique needs, I have experienced firsthand the challenges of daily life and working with professionals to advocate for my child. I am deeply passionate in sharing my knowledge and skills with others and I want to provide support where I may have at one point needed it for myself.
My passion for this work lies in understanding the “why” behind behavior while valuing connection and collaboration. Whether we’re bringing more intention into daily routines at home, navigating school systems and learning about the IEP process, or following our curiosity around complex behavioral challenges, I believe in starting small and working collaboratively toward meaningful, lasting change in ways that feel authentic and natural.
In addition to working with families, I also love partnering with school professionals to problem-solve behavior challenges, implement unique modifications and accommodations, and craft meaningful, individualized IEPs that reflect each student’s strengths and needs. I understand the pressures educators face, and I intend to act as a supportive resource who can synthesize input from multiple parties to develop a rich repertoire of supports to nurture and foster growth.
The values that drive my work are collaboration, connection, understanding, small steps forward, and compassion. It would be my great honor to join you in your journey.
